Garden nature reserve

That's us! We've got a nature reserve in our garden with lots of pets for me to play with and watch. I like frogs although they're not too keen on this hot, dry weather and hide from me.
The she boss caught a little mouse this morning. I can't take any credit this time. She took it out in the car instead of me which was a bit insulting but I notice she didn't come back with it. I hope it's found somewhere as nice as ours to live.
I like the little brown dunnocky birds that come on our decking to say hello and hop round our feet. They sing very sweetly too. They felt relaxed enough with us yesterday that they were nookying and making eggs even right near us! I hope they bring their little family to see us when they've all hatched out.
The squirrels are keeping out of the way at the moment. YES. I must have won that one. The one I had cornered must have passed on the message that I've got teeth. If the she boss hadn't let him out, I'd have got him.
I now need to win against those noisy black birds that dive down on me when I go down the garden. They're nasty but I have a proper go back at them and jump very high on my springy legs even though I'm getting older. I learnt a lot from watching Sammy all those years slam dunking.
My field is very pretty too with lots of white fluffy flowers, fairies flying everywhere and other little yellow and white flowers. The she boss wouldn't let me run round today though. I think it's because it's really hot. I'm glad she's sensible. We all need a sensible somebody around.

Gardening

What a fab day even if the sun did take itself off to bed a bit early again. Me and the she boss spent the day working out in the garden. She did lots of cutting at things while I kept the squirrels away. After all, you never know what they might get up to if I let them in.
Thanks to the she boss, one of the bushes where they hide from me is a lot thinner now and I will be able to see them easier

Talking of squirrels ..........

I very nearly caught one today in my garden. If I hadn't hesitated at the last minute to work out whether to grab his tail or the rest of him, I would have. Next time. That's if he dares to come back.
By the way, the he boss has been coughing and I think he might have given it to me. I hope he doesn't give me his toothache as well

Trouble

I've had a weekend of 2 days of trouble. Yesterday, me and the she boss went for a brilliant walk in the park because it was sunny!!!! I always go off and do my own thing because I know how fast (or slow) she walks and can guess where we'll meet up again. Only this time she'd stopped. Something to do with crabby apples off a tree. I didn't know that was why we'd gone there. I thought we'd just gone so I could chase some rabbits. I lost her for a long time and kept running backwards and forwards on the path waiting for her. I didn't want to got too far back in case she'd really gone a completely different way and I didn't know she's stopped way back and was shouting me. She came looking for me in the end cos a nice guy said he'd seen me running around looking for her. I had a good rest under the tree then while she shook the apples down for me to eat to make up for it. It just goes to show you can't trust these people to do what you expect.
Today was a different kind of trouble and I was in it. I'd seen a squirrel in our garden taking liberties so I went to give him what for. Only he wasn't having any of it. He just sat in the tree looking at me. What a nerve. I think they got a bit fed up of me shouting at it so the she boss came out with my lead. I thought we were going for another walk but instead of that, she walked me into the house and locked me in!! I was furious, especially as the she and he boss were out in the garden doing some stuff to plants. Eventually I calmed down enough not to be trying to get out of the window and the she boss let me back out. It was too late then though and that squirrel had gone. Till another day. I'll get him back sometime.
A strange thing happened tonight after all that. I heard Sammy's voice coming out of the radio talking to his mate and someone else! And it's not the first time it's happened. I wonder how they got in there? I know he goes in the computer, but I'm used to that one http://www.myspace.com/s2thag

Gardening

The squirrels that live at the back of the garden have been having a high old time while I've been away. I've been out there today and they've really been taking liberties. It seems that they've forgotten in the 3 days I've been away that it's MY garden and they're not allowed. I don't mind sharing with birds as long as they're not too big, but other furry things are another matter. So, I've been out there patrolling ALL day today, making sure they know who's boss. The friend Peter called and someone else I haven't met before but I only gave them a passing 'Hello' as I had more important things to do. I never quite manage to catch those squirlies but when I do, I'll give them what for. Just like that rat I caught in the garden once. He won't be trotting round my patch again. Maybe I should have got the bosses to leave it out as a warning to other furries but even I was disgusted. Yuk!
