BST

Well I've just been away for some sort of holiday with the she boss in the flappy house but it was all a bit pants. I think she took me to either give the meeces a break or Hayley who's been painting our house and doesn't like me would you believe!! I don't think it's just me. I think it's all dogs. Whatever, it was a naff holiday. I don't know what got into the she bosses brain thinking we could go where we went. I suppose anything was worth a try once and it should have been nice by that seventh river but the A5 road was a bit of a racket. It's quieter living a mile from Spag Bol like we do. Apart from the rabbits there was no where very interesting for me to go for walks. And it rained. And winded. And rained. And I got very wet especially when I went for a paddle and it was deeper than I thought. It's not often I swim so it's a good job I hadn't forgotten how to.
The picture is of me watching out for rabbits. If you look carefully, you can see me quivering with excitement, sad dog that I am.

One really interesting thing did happen though. Three people arrived with their flappy houses on little boats out of the river and left the same way the next day. The she boss thought that looked like fun but I hope that isn't what she decides to do next with me.
AND I had a really nice new bone to chew that the she boss packed in my luggage. It's got something tasty inside it that I haven't finished yet but am having a good go. You can see it there in the picture. I was having rest from it as I was getting jaw ache.
And we did call and see the friend Peter on the way home and I cleaned his floor for him. He had some real nice bits he'd left there for me.
Our house all looks sparkly clean now Hayley's nearly done as well and it doesn't look like any more mouses have been around while I've been gone

Wet camping

This is the weather today .......

This was the weather for the rest of the week while I've been away in the flappy house with the she boss ...........

I thought she was having a laugh when she got me in the car with all the stuff and especially when we just did little journeys dropping things off to start with and then came home again. It turned out she'd forgotten my lead. I suppose that was really my fault cos I'd snuck in the car without my outdoor wear on while she was packing just in case she was thinking of leaving me behind.
We went first to the place where we met the nice lady Claire last year but there were no flappy houses there! Something to do with all the rain we were having so we had to find somewhere else. It was not a bad place and we got visited by lots of rabbits, ducks and little creatures which was quite exciting. I'm with the she boss when she says we don't mind any of them just so long as they don't expect a share of our food or bed.

We did lots of exploring. We wanted to go back up that big hill about the Kind Scouts but we couldn't see it any of the days with all that rain. When we were exploring on the first night we met a cat. He had a bit of an identity crisis and thought he was really a BIG cat I reckon because he attacked me!! Of all the cheek. The she boss had to shoo him off because he kept taking a run at me from behind just when I was minding my own business. I never met one like that before.
We'd only just got used to our home for 2 nights when we had to move. Completely. To a new place quite a way away. On the day the sun was shining as well when we could have gone for a proper walk (not that we could see the Kind Scout still). I was a bit fed up with it all by then even though there were ducks again. There were also lots of noisy children. Not that they got in the way. But you never know. The friend Peter came to see us at tea time and that cheered me up. I felt much better then although I still slept snuggled up to the she boss that night just in case she was thinking of moving again.
We managed a really long walk over the hills eventually. It started off sunny but then there were things called stair rods coming out of the sky along with that nasty rumbly noise that I hate. Talk about scared all the way up there. This is the hill that it was sort of sunny on:

We do like hills though. It seems like lots of other people do too cos we always see someone up there.
It was sunny on the day we had to come home but not enough to dry up all the mud so the flappy tent is out in the garden now. At least we know it works and were very cosy in there listening to the pattering. Some people looked very wet to me. This last picture was me waiting for my food one day. I think I was even dribbling. I must have been very hungry. I thought I was quite a handsome dog until I saw this picture. I've got some strange proportions haven't I? I blame the parents
When the she boss was packing up we saw the most ridiculous sight. Some big fancy dog came poncing along in a rain coat and galoshes!! No joke. His she boss had put him in a coat that covered everything except his face and his bum! I know it was muddy but we had our own ways of dealing with that. You wouldn't catch me allowing that one.
The she boss was a bit excited cos we saw one of those really blue birds along the river on our last walk. I heard her telling our nice neighbours and they said they see them all the time where they live. That put her in her place.
I was very glad to be home again although it was nice being outside all the time again and we slept VERY well

Strange days out

They took me out for the day today. It was OK. We had a good walk at a new place before they went off and left me in the car for a while but I didn't mind that. What I did mind was the next place we stopped at. There were signs everywhere telling he and she bosses that they mustn't let dogs out of their cars because the dogs that lived there would kil!! :s I believed them as well when I saw them. The he and she boss left me in the car and this dog stayed on guard. He was really scary and I'm embarrassed to say, I cried a lot for the bosses to come back. I'm usually happy to curl up and have a sleep in the peace and quiet of an empty car with with something like that standing glaring, I just couldn't relax.

We picked up Jane, an old friend of mine on the way home. I haven't seen her in ages and it was really good to see her again. I heard she was Swazi somewhere with lots of rabbits. We nearly had someone smash into the car on the way home but I'm glad the she boss is a good driver and not an angry person or it could have been nasty.

The good things didn't end with Jane coming. Who should turn up later but Blobbie's he boss. Wow! What excitement. Haven't seen him in a while either and I just don't have words to describe how overwhelmed I felt. I don't know what it is about him but I do love to see him. He stayed for quite a while nattering to all of the others. Sigh

Life

This week's been really interesting for me. Why can't the he and she boss be at home all the time to pay me all this attention? We've had some really good walks over lots of hills. I've got the feeling this might be building up to something. A couple were quite eventful. Yesterday, I went off to check out some rabbits but got my collar caught in a hedge which was scary as the he and she boss weren't sure where I was I don't think. I managed to wriggle out of my chain and left it hanging on a branch. I hope it wasn't valuable as it's still there somewhere. It turned out the she boss wanted to borrow it that night as well as she was going out and it would have completed her outfit. I don't know where her mother is to let her go out dressed like that!

She had me worried but she's all back to normal now.
We've had little person Sara staying at our house and they said I'd been very good. I basically keep out of the way and if that's been good, I'm not complaining as I get extra fuss when she's gone to bed to say 'thank you'.
We saw these funny animals in a field I've never seen before but they looked abit like furry camels without the humps. They didn't look scary in any way and actually looked quite cuddly. There was something this week in the news about camel beauty contest but I think they should have let these enter as well. They would definitely have won.
We had a strange walk another day. We went out in the car but then left the he boss and the she boss took me to the park again. When I say 'park', it's more like the countryside and I have a real good run. While we were there, who should come by, but the he boss riding that thing with 2 wheels! That really confused me and I tried to keep up with him. I got in a bit of trouble over that and had to go on the lead for a while. I was really quite worried though until we got home and I saw he had got there first.

Day off

Well, what a fab day. Good weekend too if it comes to that. I had loads of visitors - Beth & Ed coming and going at all times of day and night, friendPeter who appreciated some attention from me and even Candice came to see me!
Then today, I had the she and he boss to myself all day and we went for a long walk over Sutton Park - highly recommended - with loads of rabbits and squirrels to chase although I wasn't quite so sure about the horses wandering around.
I think the she boss tricked me this morning. Whenever I hear her get her pills out I take a seat in the kitchen and wait for mine. I quite like mine - yeast or something but today when I thought that was what I was getting, she gave me a big white one instead. I wasn't going to eat it cos it tasted nasty but then she chased me. I thought she wanted it back so it must have been something worth having. I made sure I swallowed it before she got chance to pinch it back. She's been known to take things out of my mouth before now even!! Not many would dare to do that. It seems like she was quite happy for me to swallow it after all. Something to do with the itchy bum I've had I believe

Grrrrr

All that nice stuff I said last time about living here being great, I take back. TWO days now I've been on my own all day until tea time. I think they must all have gone back to work or something but I've been SOOOO bored.
Having said all that, I did have a really good walk last night chasing rabbits and things in the dark so I think the she boss must have realised it had been a long day
